Hammar H20 Hydrostatic Release Unit (HRU) – SOLAS Approved (6+ Person Liferafts)
Essential automatic liferaft release system for offshore safety.
The Hammar H20 HRU ensures your liferaft deploys automatically if your vessel sinks — even if you can’t reach it.
⚓ Why this matters
If a liferaft is lashed to your vessel and you sink, it can go down with the boat.
The Hammar H20 solves this by automatically releasing and deploying your liferaft under water pressure.
✔ No manual action required
✔ Works even if crew are incapacitated
✔ Critical for offshore & commercial compliance
🔧 How it works
- Installed between your liferaft and cradle
- When submerged, water pressure activates the unit
- At approx. 1.5 – 4 metres depth, a blade cuts the securing rope
- Liferaft floats free and inflates automatically
- Weak link breaks, allowing safe boarding
